Attributes for Exchange 5.5 Mailboxes : rdn
This is the relative part of the distinguished name (Relative Distinguished Name: RDN) of the mailbox object, but without the keyword ('cn=').
rdn
LDAP name | rdn |
Data type | Relative Distinguished Name String (max 64) |
Multivalue (Array) | No |
Heuristic | 2 => Replicated between sites, no operational attribute |
Access category | Admin access only |
Ex55 Database name | Common-Name |
In a complete distinguished name "cn=PhilippF, cn=Recipients,cn=Site-KA,o=CERRO-MAIL", the rdb attribute would be "PhilippF" only. You can read the relative name together with the keyword 'cn=' with the object property Name.
The complete object name is contained in the attribute distinguishedName or in the object Property ADSPath.
When a mailbox is created, the relative distinguished name is set to the same value as the mailbox alias name (attribute uid) by default. The rdn must be unique in the container in which the object is created.
According to the access category of this attribute the rdb of a mailbox should be changable over ADSI. However, if you try this, you will receive the ErrorCode -2147016682 (LDAP_NOT_ALLOWED_ON_RDN).
